First off i will say that i am kind of glad that this class is a recquirement, i believe that it is something that every student needs and every student will benefit from the class. The reasons that i believe Elon University recquires its students to take the course is one that everybody needs it, it will help make the student a better writer and the proffesors are tired of getting very bad papers. The school probally saw that many first year students are not at the college writing level yet and therefore need lots of help. I know that i fit into this category and know that i need the help. Some students may say well im a good writer and dont need the class but i mean even Micheal Jordan had to practice and get better at his game just like writers have to get better at writing. College recquires a little better paper then whats expected in high school so this class helps the first year college student learn what is expected of him or her in a paper. The thing that i noticed about the class is that it helps the writer get different ideas on what they should do to help plan, revise and make their paper better. Through this class we will learn to better our papers and we will learn methods and technigues to make ourselves better for future assignments. To tell you the truth i really dont think i would take the class if it wasnt recquired. The reason being is that i just hate writing and i really just dont want to be in a course that all you do is write. Even though i wouldnt want to be in the course i think its neccesary and is much needed for incoming college students.
