With this speech there are only few ways that you can come across. You can’t go in and tell them they have to go, you can’t scare them into going so I think the only positive way to get to these kids is through motivation. Motivate the teens to go to college, breakdown all the good things that can come out of it and present it in a way that will make them come back for more information. First I would try to capture their attention by giving good facts like how much the average college grad makes compared to just the high school diploma something that would get them on my side and keep them there for the remainder of the speech. While making it a positive speech I would still have to come across with a more serious tone at some points to get the point across. The different argument that I would use would be the types of jobs that they could receive the money that they would make giving them the option of having a new car, bug house things like that things that make the average high school student jump up and listen too. Give examples of where a college grad gets hired over a non college grad show the student all the different job options that they can receive and the benefits that will come with the good jobs that one can receive with a college degree. Take the approach of a positive and it will make the kids want to listen and make them think positive about college.

I agree since I think a college degree is very important to getting a good career. I also think one of the best ways to get the kids to listen is to tell them how much more someone with a college degree can make than someone who didn't go to college, since many of these kids might be from low income families and might want to earn money.
